balanced Church
At school our teachers constantly refer to having a balanced walk. I was reading "When Heaven Invades Earth" by Bill Johnson tonight and started to feel the conviction that this balanced walk needs a little more attention. I wanted to share this quote and a thought, " Over the past decade, revival fire has been carried by Rodney Howard-Browne, and it has found a home in Toronto and Pensacola. People travel from around the world to these watering holes because of an instinctive hunger for more. In some places they stand in lines, waiting for prayer. In others they crowd around the front of the sanctuary waiting for someone to be used by God to lay hands on them and bless them. Critics have called this activity a "bless me club." Personally, because of my passion for the blessing of God I have little problem with those who return time after time to recieve another blessing. I need His blessing.
The problem is not in receiving more of the blessing of God. It's the refusal to give it away to others once we have received it ourselves."That last line cut me right to the heart and brought on a whole series of thoughts. First it stirred up that area of evangelism- once I have received I need to impart and give away. Then it caused me to dig out my notebook from school and re-evalute all areas that I need to be balanced in. Here is what we looked at in class- worship, prayer, ministry/service, fellowship, evangelism, discipleship, and bible study.... keep me focused God
