"I Live in a Sewer"... (sung by Eric Tremblay with a French accent)
I've been praying a bit about this summer- and I asked God what my own personal initiative was for the next three months. God has been so clear in speaking to me in saying that wherever I am and whatever I am doing He just wants me to serve. Simple right? I am being put to the test. Today I was out at camp and the sewage line got plugged and backed up and raw sewage started pumping back up through the drains in the floor, through the showers and through the toilets. So I'm standing in sewage, almost ready to vomit, the day was over a long time ago, I'm thinking about taking a nap...when I'm reminded of this personal initiative. Man the things God sometimes has to do to bring us to a place of selflessness and denying ourselves, our needs and putting other people and other situations first when it's hard and not accomodating really does stink (and I mean really stink!). Teach me Jesus.
In the end it turned out to be a lot of fun. I got splashed in the face twice by sewage when I went to wring out my mop (not a fan). My clothes permanently stink and I have a new appreciation for shop vacumns.
